Recall practice with Bilbo, our Bearded Collies. I always make it fun.😍

On our walks together, I periodically call Bilbo, our Bearded Collie, back to me and when he does, I sometimes give him food as a reward (if not food a fuss).😊 This helps underline my position as his carer, protector, provider of food and the person who makes all the important decisions. He has earned this reward for complying with my request – dogs are like us they think “what’s in it for me?”. I never command my dogs to do anything, I request them as they are my friends – I know my human friends wouldn’t like to be “commanded” to do something!😊

If you are interested in learning to understand and communicate with your dog in their own language and do it in a very kind and holistic way, please consider looking at the website and Facebook page of Jan Fennell, the International Dog Listener. (Jan developed this kind and holistic method and it has helped thousands of caring owners and their dogs worldwide, me included!) Please note it is not a training method, but a new way of living with your dog. If you think of a cake, the method “Amichien Bonding” is the sponge and training is the icing on top. I’ve been following it successfully for 25 years now!😍
