Lucky Puppy: Turkish firemen rescue dog from 70-metre well after 10 days

A puppy was rescued, Wednesday, after falling into a recently-drilled 70-metre-deep (230 feet) well in the Dereseki neighbourhood in the Beykoz district of Istanbul on February 5. The rescue team extracted the dog, named Kuyu, from the hole by using a mechanical arm developed by students of the Bahcesehir Science and Technology High School. After a three-hour rescue operation, Kuyu was brought to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Animal Hospital for a medical examination. Kuyu has reportedly been adopted by the Beykoz fire brigade.
