When Puppy Boy awoke he found himself disoriented wondering where he was and how he had gotten here. The sensation that his head was foggy and heavy and confused was stronger than he had ever felt before. Space travel and things that didn’t follow logical rules. Time… inside out.
He knew he was on the moon and he was here with… someone…
Originally he had been forced into this trip… a long long time ago… He was supposed to have been killed but someone had saved him…
Outside somewhere he heard a barking; a barking that he knew very well and recognized as a friend, but the barking was in distress and it was followed by the sound of lasers. There was a battle happening. Commotion, scurrying.
It was pitch black. Puppy Boy scooted towards the nearest wall and then crept along it until he found a door. He cracked it a tiny bit and was blinded by the light. After few moments his view began to take shape out of the blinding whiteness. A powder surface of moon-dust and rock before him. A short distance away Puppy Girl was crouched behind a rock, pointing her laser gun, exchanging fire with someone. Farther out he saw many moving dark forms. They were like skinny shadows. Dozens of them.
Suddenly one of them shot something up high into the air like a catapult and what drifted down was a net. It landed over Puppy Girl’s hiding spot with precision and she was trapped. She tried shooting her laser at the ropes but they were tough and the laser barely had an affect. The shadows sensed that their opponent was successfully trapped and all began to emerge from their defensive positions, approaching Puppy Girl.
Puppy Boy knew that he had to act fast. He was filled with the overwhelming sense that he owed his life to Puppy Girl; that it was his obligation to rush forward and sacrifice his life to save her if it was necessary. But rushing out into the open right now would only get him killed and wouldn’t help anyone. He needed to find a weapon quickly.
Then he remembered what was in the building with him. He could kill everything! If he could just find his way to it in the dark building before the Shadow aliens got much closer to puppy girl…
