My golden retriever puppy tries on dog boots for the first time ever. We had a harsh Michigan winter and temperatures reached minus 40. The streets are also full of salt which is very bad for a dog’s paw pads. In these cold temperatures dogs can get frostbite if they do not wear boots. This is not cruel. In fact, it would be cruel to not put him in boots!
