Thank you for watching! Myra’s puppies are 2 weeks old today. We are raising them to become Emotional Support Animals and/or Psychiatric Service Dogs. Part of that training includes bonding puppies to their families, which means we spend a lot of time with the pups getting to know them young so we can try to make the best matches between ESA puppy and ESA handler.
This litter of puppies from Myra and one of our studs, Macchiato, has great potential to be incredibly therapeutic pets. Welcome to the Red Barn Cavaliers family home! This stream is located in our master bedroom, where we whelp every litter of puppies, and where they will remain for 24-hour observation and care until they’ve adjusted to their new vision and hearing around 3 weeks old. We live stream them every day, providing all of their care on stream for their families to see and keep up with their puppy’s progress. We raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with an emphasis on their emotional-social development. We raise all of our puppies for the distinct purpose of becoming ESAs. This breed of dog has a temperament ripe for therapeutic bonding, and their ability to tune into their handler’s emotional needs can’t compare to any other breed. We nurture those characteristics to optimize them further, starting before their eyes open.
We potty train our puppies using pine pellets designed for rehydration, beginning between 7-10 days old. Our puppies typically understand where to go potty within about a week of practice, and they soon learn to use the tray all on their own. By about 6-7 weeks, they begin waking during the night to use the tray.
