Sojou, Fish and Dotty always eat from the same honey pot of dirt in the garden which may provide minerals or vitamins that they are missing in their diet or work as a digestive aid. Our Alaskan Malamutes are very healthy and never have any ill effects from eating dirt. Edible diatomaceous earth even helps eliminate parasites in the gut naturally. Whatever the reason our mals eat dirt we monitor them and their health regularly changing their raw food diet to boost any vitamin or mineral shortfalls.
