Origin and History:

The Kerry Blue Terrier, also known simply as the Kerry Blue, hails from Ireland and is named after the region of County Kerry. This breed is believed to have originated in the 18th century and was initially used for hunting small game and birds. Over time, it transitioned into a versatile working dog, excelling in tasks such as herding, guarding livestock, and even serving as a police dog.

Distinctive Appearance:

The Kerry Blue Terrier is easily recognizable by its unique coat, which is dense, curly, and ranges in color from deep blue-gray to light blue. The coat is non-shedding, making this breed a suitable choice for individuals with allergies. The Kerry Blue is a medium-sized dog with a well-proportioned build, erect ears, and a characteristic beard and mustache that add to its charming and distinctive appearance.

Energetic and Intelligent:

Kerry Blue Terriers are known for their high energy levels and intelligence. These dogs are agile and require regular exercise to keep them physically and mentally stimulated.
