“What’s it like waking up to puppies every day?”

Good morning! Meet Pommy and her 4-week-old litter of puppies. They were the ones to wake us up today with how loud they were playing this morning! We are really looking forward to bringing them out to play. We began potty training the puppies over 2 weeks ago, and it is going really well! That’s what the tray of pellets is for. Each morning we wake them to potty, nurse, and play a little bit. They have been very playful this morning! See why our newborn litters sleep in our bedrooms with us, and see what they get up to when we wake them up for morning potty breaks!

Join us for a quick Pupdate and be sure to catch the livestream that follows! They are doing incredibly well for their young age. We have held Reservation Day and each of these pups now has a really wonderful family preparing their homes for their new baby! We are now onto potty training – a really big challenge that the puppies are tackling well!

This litter of puppies was sired by Macchiato, our black and tan stud dog. With Macchiato, Pommy delivered 6 very healthy puppies from a variety of colors! She has Blenheims, tricolors, a blue Merle, plus a black and tan. This is the very first black and tan puppy born to Red Barn Cavaliers, so we are all very excited!

Our pack of Cavaliers include two stud dogs (Spike and Macchiato), 5 mama dogs (Missy, Robin, Daisy, Pommy, Remy), 1 ESA dog (Paris), and 2 up-and-coming puppies for our breeding program (Rio & Vienna), littermates of whom one will be a stud dog, and the other a mama dog. Both are simultaneously being trained to be ESA dogs/Psychiatric Service Dogs.

We raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with a proactive approach that places an emphasis on their psychosocial development. We have raised many puppies for the distinct purpose for becoming Emotional Support Animals (also known as ESAs). This breed of dog has a temperament that is ripe for therapeutic bonding, so we nurture those characteristics to help bring them out and optimize them further. We try to answer questions during the live streams – please don’t be afraid to speak up! We may not always be able to answer right away, but often we will go through questions as we are taking care of the puppies.
