So proud of Emma! We’ve been working on recall quite a bit and she has gradually progressed to off leash in a high distraction environment.
This skills takes practice and a ton of patience.
Top tips:
1) do not repeat your cue (“come” is our normal cue, but we have also trained “here” for the most challenging situations)
2) never punish your dog for coming to you
3) reward with high-value treats
4) instead of running towards your dog, try getting your dog to chase after you by running away
