They say Basenji’s don’t fetch and should not be allowed off-leash unless in a fenced/enclosed area. I have trained Argo to find and retrieve my keys in a public space by combining fetch and scent work skills.
I won’t kid you, training a Basenji is difficult. They are highly intelligent, instinctive and independent. But I want to show you what is possible with consistent training, persistence, and a positive attitude.
