About the Basenji Dog Breed
Basenjis are energetic dogs who require and enjoy daily romps or runs. Agility and lure courses are two of their favorite activities. Basenjis are no longer often employed for hunting, but they make excellent household dogs and live to be around 13 years old.
Basenjis are known for their strong loyalty to their family. To be great companions, they require a lot of early interaction with other people. Basenji females have an uncommon feature in that they nearly usually only have one heat cycle per year, which occurs between August and November. They also create their well-known “yodeling” sound.
With a simple swipe with a towel or brush once or twice weekly, Basenjis are incredibly easy to groom and maintain clean. Basenjis, like cats, will spend a lot of time grooming and meticulously licking their fur.
