Puppy Mindfulness

It’s easy to stop noticing the world around us.
We can wind up living in our heads – caught up in our thoughts, without stopping to watch how those thoughts are creating anxiety and stress.

When we’re mindful, there’s a shift. We are totally in the present moment, like Alex the puppy, focused on a frisbee. Being in the present moment brings relief — we are not regretting the past or worrying about the future. We are “in the now”  and savoring it moment by moment. This zone of mindfulness is where we gain insight and awareness. We pull our noses back off the windshield and and observe our own minds.

Mindfulness means feeling connected with our bodies and the five sensations they experience. It means giving full attention to the sights, sounds, touch, smell and tastes of the present moment. As we become more aware of the present moment, we begin to experience the world in a new way.
