SAFE ANAESTHETIC PROTOCOL USED FOR CAESAREAN SECTION

4 FRENCH BULL DOG PUPPIES SAVED BY CAESAREAN SECTION

Anesthetic protocols that we use for caesarean section is propofol and isoflurane inhalation gas anaesthesia that are associated with decreased maternal and neonatal mortality and increased puppy vigor. So there is higher safety for your beloved dam & her puppies.

Here is an instance where we saved all 4 live FRENCH BULL DOG PUPPIES by using this protocol.

We strictly follow below protocol before going for caesarean section

1. Premedication:

Premedication provides sedation and analgesia for the dam. Premedication reduces anxiety, especially if the dam has already started parturition, has had a prolonged second-stage labor, has delivered pups, or has uterine inertia.

2. Intravenous Fluid Therapy:

All animals undergoing anesthesia for cesarean section will receive intravenous fluid therapy.

3. Preoxygenation:

We always preoxygenate the dam with 100% oxygen by face mask for 5 minutes (4 to 6 L/min) before and during induction of general anesthesia until an endotracheal tube is placed.

Preoxygenation before and during induction significantly decreases the risk of maternal hypoxemia.

4. Patient Monitoring:

All vital parameters during caesarean section including maternal ventilation, arterial oxygenation, blood pressure, pulse rate, heart rate, Co2 and temperature will be closely monitored.
