FOR animal lovers, or the pet-starved, this is possibly the best job ever.
Sydney Dogs and Cats Home wants to pay one pet-obsessed person $500 to basically cuddle puppies and kittens for the day.
And at the front of queue to receive that attention is a deliciously gorgeous litter of Kelpie cross babies, led by a young bloke name Taco, who stars in a video showing off his snuggling skills.
In what’s clearly a pawsome publicity drive, the shelter has teamed up with Airtasker to send a call-out for a puppy pal.
“Are you that friend that everyone tags in cute dog memes on Facebook? Would you rather go on a doggie date than a Tinder date? Do you follow more dogs on Instagram than family members? If you said yes to all the above, then you could be perfect for this task,” the shelter’s Airtasker ad begins.“We have just had a litter of five adorable 10-week-old Kelpie X puppies arrive at our shelter after they were found abandoned in a bin. With these little guys and a huge influx of other new animals, we’re in urgent need for some extra help,” it continues, adding that Airtasker will pay $500 to the winner of the task.
Responsibilities will include “showering the pups and doggos with love and affection; taking them for a hard-hitting workout (AKA a stroll in the park); getting our pups, doggos and cats runway-ready (a.k.a. taking photos to help them get adopted into loving families).”
So far, the task has attracted 409 offers, and more than 700 comments, many with a common theme of wanting to the “the best job ever” for free, by donating Airtasker’s pay back to the shelter.
