They welcomed their third dog, a 12-week old Labrador-Golden retriever called Digby, to the studio earlier this week.But the excitable puppy left Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in hysterics on Thursday’s This Morning, after he accidentally hit the silver-haired host in the crotch.After introducing a new segment with the dog on screen, the grimacing 55-year-old admitted Digby had ‘got him in the nads’ – leaving co-host Holly Willoughby in hysterics.Following an advert break, the pair were seen introducing a new feature on the show with Digby held on a lead.Beginning to bond with the 12-week old pup, the pair were then seen attempting to train the pooch by calling out different commands to him onscreen.With the dog excitedly jumping up as a VT played however, Phillip soon admitted their training session had gone awry – as the pooch had bashed him in the crotch.Presenting the next section, he hilariously confessed to viewers: ‘Do you know that puppy just caught me in the nads!’To which Holly replied with a giggle: ‘I know, I did notice that. Are you OK?’Joking of his X-rate injury, Phillip then grimaced and pulled a number of strained faces to the camera, before groaning: ‘I’m alright, yeah.’However the quip left Holly Willoughby in hysterics, as well as the camera crew, and the pair had to momentarily stop their hosting duties to recover.Digby arrived at the This Morning studio on Monday, marking the third canine set to be trained as an assistance dog on the show – following the success of his Clover and Luna.Unveiling the adorable cross-breed for the first time, Phillip had gushed: ‘He’s a 12-week-old Labrador-Retriever cross. He’s going to have a very important job when he grows up.’He’s from the charity Goods For Good – they’ve trained dogs to assist people in need, such as disabled people and autistic children.’He could also work in a hospital to help people with their recovery.’Phillip and Holly are known to be good friends, and are often unable to contain their giggles following an array of saucy jokes on the popular morning series – which bagged the Best Daytime Show gong at the TV Choice Awards last week.
