A common problem for puppy owners. Teaching your new furry family member some manners. A disobedient puppy is big trouble. Destroying your furniture, pooping on the floor, constant barking or aggressive behavior in a puppy can be a real pain in the doggy door. That’s where I can help. I’ve been a professional dog trainer for more than 10 years. I’m about to reveal the best methods for training your new puppy or dog for a lifetime of good behavior.
The key points to successful training are positive reinforcement, praise and intelligence and count be summed up in 3 steps. Let’s count them down.
Number 3 is the most popular form of training. Dominance Training. Dogs are pack animals and are looking for a leader. That’s you! You need to be the leader of the pack or the “Alpha dog”. This method is however outdated and is considered cruel.
Positive Reinforcement is Number 2 on my list. It works by presenting a motivating reinforcement after the puppy exhibits a desired behavior. A “good puppy” goes a long way to making sure the behavior will continue in the future.
And the winner at Number 1 is Intelligence Training . It’s the honest, doggone truth. The heart of a well-trained, obedient and loving companion is intelligence.
Most dog owners make the mistake of focusing on physical training. Instead play on your puppy’s intelligence . Training your dog’s intelligence is an overlooked and important part of the process. It will save you money on hiring expensive trainers and training programs.
