In 2016, Miguel, 89, and Ada Rojas, 83, were devastated by the loss of their three-year-old chihuahua, Gucci. The circumstances were absolutely horrific. Ada and Gucci were attacked by two stray dogs while on a walk. Gucci died a couple of days later.
The traumatic incident put the elderly couple from Miami in the hospital. Miguel suffered a heart attack from the stress and Ada needed 100 stitches from the injuries sustained while trying to save their beloved pet.
When the news of the incident went viral, a good samaritan named Mario knew she had to do something for the grieving couple.
With the help of Miguel and Ada’s daughter, Maria reached out to We Puppy Paws Kennel of Homestead, Florida and was able to adopt a small nine-week-old chihuahua puppy for Miguel and for a discounted fee.
