Rescuers scouring through rubble in Norcia were in high spirits on Tuesday, November 1, after finding Ulysses, a dog who was buried alive in an earthquake.
Italian firefighters found the yelping cagnolino, or puppy, in the midst of ruins two days after a 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit areas near Norcia, Preci and Castel Sant’Angelo sul Nera. Puppy Ulysses was sent to a vet in Rieti and was in good condition, according to local reports.
The quake came just four days after powerful earthquakes hit central Italy. In August, villages surrounding Amatrice were devastated by a 6.2-magnitude quake, which killed 298 people.
