(19 Feb 2017) A few dozen barking couples tied the knot at a mass pet wedding ceremony on the Saturday after Valentine’s Day, in Lima’s San Isidro district.
Dressed in white wedding gowns and black tuxedos, Peruvian pets got married during the “Pet Valentine 2017” event surrounded by balloons and cakes festooned with bride and groom dog cake adornments.
The owners received a wedding certificate from the district of San Isidro that included paw prints of the bride and groom.
Congresswoman of the San Isidro District Erika Gogin said the event was held “to raise awareness for pet owners for them to be responsible”.
